The pictures of adults and children dying from hunger and diseases in Africa as well as the photos of thousands of hopeless people having lost all their possessions and left ruined after the passage of a violent storm or a terrible earthquake are scenes that frequently move the world. Thanks to the power of television, everyone gets shocked at the view of dead bodies. Our feelings get more upset when we look at the distressed and panic-stricken faces of the survivors who don’t know what to do next to keep alive.
But once the first emotions get controlled, people everywhere take the decision to do what should be done to save the living people from the hard reality they are in. nations whatever their differences are ready to offer mutual help and support. The tragedies quickly produce in most of us a feeling of solidarity and actions of generosity and charity.
